What Are They Saying About ILC?
“Kyle had his 1st Algebra quiz and he made the highest grade (96) in his class – a first for him so he is really happy and so are we.” ~ Kirk (Parent)
“I made a 40 point improvement on the math it went from a 530 to a 570.” ~ Christyn (Student)
“Because of my tutorial sessions with Dr. Blackmon, I have boosted my confidence in math and anything else that has to do with numbers. When I see a math problem, I don’t get scared or nervous anymore. I just know I can do it! Also, in addition to just learning math, I’ve also started loving math. Dr. Blackmon was always very positive. It was easy learning from her. Another one of her assistants, Miss Shana, was positive too. We did a lot of activities. I liked that. When I was making F’s, I felt bad about myself, and jealous of other kids who made A’s. Now that I’m making B’s I feel like I can do anything!” ~ Blessid (Student)
“My daughter Blessid’s move from public to private school was a big transition for both us. We expected changes and challenges, but we never expected her to go from all A’s and an occasional B in math, to an “F” in math. After the first quarter, we made a commitment to simply study harder, and get help from family members who were, “good in math”, to bring that grade up; but she kept bringing home failing marks. I felt like I was failing too. After a second report card and another failing math grade, I knew it was time to get professional help.It was starting to effect her self esteem.
Dr. Blackmon and her staff were not only excellent on paper, but in real life also. She was able to zero in on certain foundational “cracks” that weren’t allowing my daughter to build on her mathematical knowledge and abilities. She conferenced with her teacher to get a better understanding of what was going on in the class room, and communicated with my daughter to see what else was going on in her head that also contributed her inability to succeed.
Well! (drum roll please), the third quarter, after adding Dr. Blackmon and Innovative Learning Concepts, my daughter brought home a B in math! She went from a 64, (1st quarter), to a 61, (2nd quarter), to an 80 (3rd quarter). Believe me, she brought home a big smile with that B, and a spot on the Honor Roll! At the beginning of the 4th quarter, she made her first 100 on a math quiz! She’s still working and praying for an “A”. Since she’s improved so much, she sees, (and I see), that it’s possible! Thank you Dr. Blackmon and ILC!” ~ Donna (Parent)
